Nutbar is a superfood café that puts the world’s most nutrient-rich, 100% organic foods in the spotlight. With three existing locations in Toronto, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced food service supervisor to join our location in Adelaide & Brant. The role is essential to the seamless operations of the store and to our company as a whole. We are really excited to find the right person who is interested in taking our business to the next level and growing with us.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Front Line Service

 

–          Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff by scheduling and assigning duties

–          Ensure standards of day-to-day store operations, service quality, presentation and operations are met

–          Continually and consistently deliver on food standards and actively execute food spot checks

–          Be thoroughly knowledgeable and available to answer any questions regarding the specific menus

–          Facilitate successful execution of catering order and/or special request

 

Operational Excellence

 

–          Work closely with Store Manager to manage inventory and oversee organized storage and inventory systems

–          Monitor and maintain records of stock, sales, repairs and wastage for modifying procedures and estimating costs for efficient and profitable operation

–          Prepare order summaries and reports

–          Facilitate café cleanliness and Health + Safety standards

–          Identify issues (process, equipment, people) and convey to management

 

Team Management

 

–          Participate in the store team hiring process, onboarding, training programs and legal/governance requirement

–          Support company communication rhythm and format that allow people to give and receive feedback

–          Provide oversight, mentoring, direction and monitor execution of team as they evolve

 

Leadership

 

–          Engage in mindful + meaningful conversations when they need to happen

–          Know and live the company values through inspirational leadership and leading by example

–          Stick to process, communication, commitments & budget on what has been agreed upon

–          Uncover opportunities for growth, improvement or efficiency

 

Requirements:

·         3+ years’ experience

·         Completion of secondary school

·         Previous experience supervising and mentoring teams in a café or restaurant setting is an asset

·         Has a fundamental understanding of restaurant or café operations

·         Is an initiative-take and multitasker, is hyper-organized, positive and hardworking

·         Is passionate about healthy, whole, organic foods

·         Is a champion of exceptional customer experience and has innate ability to problem solve on the go

·         Is able to work weekdays, weekends, & evenings

Position Type:

Permanent, Full-Time, 36~40 hours per week

Wage $20.00 (CAD) per hour

·         Quarterly bonus up to $450 available based on performance

·         Incremental wage raise available annually at company’s discretion
