Floral Designer
Terra Plants and Flowers is a florist shop located in Manotick, Ontario, offering creative, one-of-a-kind artisanal arrangements using beautiful, seasonal flowers. We are currently looking to hire an experienced artistic Floral Designer on a permanent and full-time basis.
The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
· Design and create bouquets for weddings, funerals or other special events.
· Design and create corsages, wreaths, and other floral arrangement following the customers’ requests.
· Communicate with customers to discuss arrangements required and accurately record details.
· Prepare fresh flowers and maintain floral products.
· Manage online orders using the computer.
· Respond to customer phone calls or email when required.
· Keep the workspace clean and organized.
We are looking for someone with the following qualification:
· Minimum 1 year experience in a floral design or related field
· Experience in preparing wedding, funeral and flower arrangements
· Must possess creative ability and talent, knowledge of safe handling of materials, tools, and equipment
· Completion of secondary school
· Must have a positive attitude and be pleasant to work with.
· Must be able to work independently, or as part of a team.
· Able to work in a high pace environment with deadlines.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Flexible to work extra hours when required.
· Self motivated and good at multitasking.
Working Conditions:
· Need to have hand-eye coordination, ability to distinguish between colours, manual dexterity
· Need to be available for overtime hours during peak times (Valentines day, Mothers day and Christmas etc).
· Willing to work on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
