Job Duties:

·        Communicating the restaurant’s vision to all team members and lead by example. Reinforcing the DRC’s Mission & Priorities daily

·        Consistently monitors kitchen operations and cleanliness

·        Build and maintains relationships with team members and Front Of House management alike

·        Supporting ordering and receiving, ensuring proper product levels, rotation and storage

·        Showing leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and cooking

·        Demonstrating high personal integrity and business ethics that align with the DRC’s Mission & Priorities

·        Give suggestions to Sous Chefs, the Chef de Cuisine and the Executive Chef on how to improve kitchen area, process/procedures, etc.

·        Supports training and development initiatives as well as performance management and employee coaching

·        Lead team by example to exhibit, encourage and motivate DRC’s Values & Beliefs

 

Requirements:

·        2+ years’ experience working in a high-volume, fine dining, authentic and modern restaurant

·        Must have experience with authentic and modern Mexican cuisine

·        Must have experience with moles, masa cookery, sous vide cookery and thermocirculation

·        Cook’s trade certification or equivalent training and experience (e.g. culinary diploma, degree, or an equivalent apprenticeship program)

·        Demonstrate ability to lead and supervise kitchen staff

·        Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional leadership abilities, including possessing strong relationship building and communication skills

·        Able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and meet tight deadlines.

 

Working Conditions:

·        Kitchen environment – noisy, high temperatures, etc.

·        Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 80lbs

·        Standing and walking required

·        Must be flexible to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Position Type:

Permanent, Full-Time, 30~40 hours/week

Salary $24.00 (CAD) per hour
