Job Description:
Kirkton Veterinary Clinic is located in Kirkton, ON and is a mixed animal practice offering a full range of bovine and small animal services, including preventative medicine, client education, emergency medicine and surgery, diagnostics, herd health and embryo transfer. The clinic is currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join their team to undertake duties in all aspects of the clinic including surgery, laboratory, diagnostics, reception/client communication and running appointments. The successful candidate will be eligible for a Health Care Spending Account and a Pet Care Spending Account after completing their probationary period. Job Duties and Skills:
· Veterinary office management
· Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
· Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
· Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
· Produce radiographs, collect and analyse samples and perform other laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems
· Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian
· Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
· Provide wound and bandage care
· Counsel clients on animal health care
· Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
