Job Overview
We are looking for a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Sous Chef. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in supervising kitchen operations, ensuring top-notch food service, and upholding the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. Hours per week: 40

Wage/Salary: $34.10 per hour

Duties:

·         Supervise kitchen staff, provide guidance and support as necessary

·         Oversee food preparation to ensure compliance with recipes and quality standards

·         Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed

·         Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment;

·         Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations;

·         Collaborate with team members to create innovative menu items and specials;

·         Address customer inquiries, complaints and feedback professionally;

·         Train new employees on proper food handling procedures and kitchen protocols

 

Skills:

·         Supervising: proficient in managing and leading a team of kitchen staff

·         Kitchen: skilled in all facets of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and equipment utilization

·         Food service: Well-versed in delivering exceptional customer service within a food service environment

·         Food industry: Familiarity with industry trends, regulations, and best practices

·         Cook: experience sin preparing various dishes with precision and attention to detail

·         Restaurant management: proficiency in overseeing restaurant operations such as staff scheduling, inventory management, and customer service

·         Food handling: understanding of proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality

·         Team management: ability to promote teamwork and collaboration among kitchen staff

·         Help: Willingness to assist team members and customers as required

 

Qualifications: Completion of a bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and more than five years of experience in the food service industry, specifically working in kitchen operations. The candidate should have good knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, cooking techniques and sanitation practices. Preference to candidates who have previous managerial, supervisory or Sous Chef experience. Previous Food Handler Certification is an asset. Experience in world cuisine is an asset.
