Located on the north-east corner of Price and Yonge Streets, Bar Centrale di Terroni is situated at street level below our second floor full-serve Terroni restaurant. Opened in 2010, this spot was inspired largely by the many beautiful train stations in Italy located in city centres that are an ingrained part of the regular comings and goings of people as they go about their day. A place to gather at all times of day, to talk, meet for coffee, a glass of wine or an aperitivo. We offer a European style breakfast menu, a full lunch and dinner menu, along with brunch on the weekend. Our cozy outdoor patio is the perfect spot to come by for aperitivo time from 5-7pm! We constantly continue growing and evolving and at this time we are currently looking for an experienced Pizza Cook, or as we call it in Italian – “Pizzaiolo”, to join our team of professionals.

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES:

 

In this position you will be responsible for:

 

•             Prepare authentic Italian pizzas based on our recipes and custom orders

•             Prepare the pizza dough, apply the sauce and various toppings

•             Prepare a variety of toppings including wash and chop vegetables and cut, slice, and grill meats

•             Prepare other foods such as panzerotti

•             Accurately monitoring the temperature of the pizza oven and varying cooking times accordingly

•             Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances

•             Estimate food requirements and maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment

•             Ensure the kitchen is fully prepped for service (e.g. cutting ingredients, preparing sauces, marinating, etc.)

•             Ensure superior quality of food once it leaves the kitchen

•             Clean and sanitize the pizza oven at the end of each shift

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

•             Secondary school diploma

•             At least 1 year of experience as a Cook specializing in Italian cuisine

•             Culinary/cooking trade certifications or diplomas are an asset

•             Safe food handling certificates, WHMIS, and/or CPR certifications are an asset

 

COMPENSATION & CONDITIONS:

 

•             Permanent, full-time position

•             $21.00 per hour with applicable overtime pay after 44 hours of work per week

•             37.5 hours of work per week

•             Extended health and dental benefits
