Hiring Supply chain specialist – procurement

As part of our expansion plan in the food and hospitality sector, we are currently hiring a Supply chain specialist – procurement.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Analyze supply chain risks, develop forecasts, and create market scenarios to assess potential challenges and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports with actionable recommendations to optimize supply chain performance.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for cost reduction, focusing on streamlining procurement processes and enhancing operational efficiency. Continuously look for ways to improve margins without compromising quality.
  • Maximize the organization’s purchasing power by negotiating favorable terms with suppliers, accessing new vendors, reducing lead times, and ensuring consistent supply flow for restaurants, grocery stores, and other stakeholders in the food supply chain.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential buyers and suppliers, ensuring collaboration and alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Negotiate agreements with food suppliers with a focus on developing partnerships between food suppliers in Canada and India. Work towards establishing robust supply chains between these regions.
  • Respond to customer service inquiries, clarify requirements, and provide relevant procurement information as needed. Ensure client satisfaction by addressing issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that include supplier diversification to mitigate risks and ensure a steady supply of high-quality food products. Explore new supplier markets and opportunities for partnerships, particularly in emerging markets like India.
  • Monitor and analyze procurement data to track performance, identify trends, and ensure continuous improvement in sourcing processes.
  • Prepare reports for management for strategic decision-making.

 

Employment requirements

  • College diploma in business management or culinary management or a related field within the food and hospitality industry is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, with exposure to restaurant, grocery, or wholesale purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with the food and hospitality sectors in both Canada and India is essential, particularly regarding supplier relationships and market dynamics.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with a collaborative approach to supply chain management.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be based in Canada full-time, with a willingness to travel to India as needed for supplier negotiations and partnership development.
  • Proficiency in English is required for effective communication across diverse suppliers and stakeholders.

 

Salary

$70,000 per year
