Graphic Designer and Illustrator (NOC 52120)

Job Requirements:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is typically required. However, candidates with a college diploma in graphic arts and significant work experience may also be considered.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in graphic design and illustration. A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of projects is essential to demonstrate your creativity and range of skills. Some examples might include ad design, work on marketing campaigns, advertising projects, journaling work or tutorials, as well as product photography/videography.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, Lightroom Classic) is mandatory. Experience with additional tools and technologies relevant to graphic design and illustration, such as DSLR Camera’s. Must possess strong copywriting skills for ads and emails, along with strong video editing and graphic design skills to make ads suitable for various social media platforms. Experience with Klavio a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver compelling visual solutions.
  • Journaling and Planning: Must demonstrate a fondness or understanding for journaling, planning, especially with the use of planner stickers.

 

Duties:

  • Develop and design visual material (ads, tutorials, products, etc.) for print and digital media, including websites, marketing materials, branding, and advertisements.
  • Work closely with clients or as supervisor to the marketing team in order to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions
  • Illustrate concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style, and submitting them for approval, alongside estimated costs.
  • Prepare finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; and purchasing from vendors when necessary.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed, including coordination of all aspects of production for the selected advertising medium
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, software updates, and new techniques in graphic design and illustration.
  • Demonstrate products or concepts through photography or videography
  • Must be artistically inclined. Able to create journaling spreads that are functional, but also should be skilled in highlighting our products’ aesthetic through both photos and videos, resonating with our customer base.
  • 30-hour work weeks
  • In-office work schedule required
