The supervisor is responsible for assisting the manager on the day-to-day operations of the Bagel Co. They work with the manager & the team to create a fun, team-oriented environment. They ensure customer service is always the priority through fast efficient service. They are accountable for store operations, service, product, as well as training and development. The supervisor oversees the overall flow of the day.

Tasks
Establish methods to meet work schedules
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
Estimate and order ingredients and supplies
Hire food service staff
Ensure food service and quality control
Prepare budget and cost estimates
Address customers’ complaints or concerns
Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
Prepare and submit reports
Must have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres
Establish work schedules

Job Duties (include but are not limited to)
· Follow shift duties and direct team members in completing operational lists;
· Help team understand importance of each duty and how to prioritize tasks;
· Ensure restaurant appearance is kept to high standards;
· Follow standards and procedures on how to prepare drinks, sandwiches and preparation of produce for sandwiches;
· Ensure team members are informed of these procedures and are constantly educating on how to produce the highest standard of product;
· Quality checking the standard and consistency of the product that is being prepared;
· Provide training and ongoing development to ensure company standards, cultures and policies are being met;
· Evaluate team members’ performance and building areas of weakness;
· Communicate with manager and owner when issues arise with team members.
Other
Minimum of two years supervisory experience in food services; Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food preparation or service are required
