Klaas Friesen is a locally owned and operated farm operation, located in Horndean, Manitoba and also providing
custom harvesting services. We currently have an opening for one (1) Farm Foreman/Agricultural Service
Contractor (NOC 82030).

Salary: $ 25.50 per hour
Position Summary: Reporting to the business owner, the Farm Foreman/Agricultural Service Contractor will have
a leading role in and coordinate the work in the equipment shop, in operating farm equipment and supervise and
instruct other farm machinery operators.
Duties include:
Lead, schedule, instruct and oversee (seasonal) farm machinery operators with
o operating and maintaining (heavy) farm equipment on roads and in fields
o operating and maintaining (digital) technology such as communication tools and global positioning
systems (GPS).
o monitoring equipment, machinery operations and technology to detect malfunctions.
o performing minor repairs to farm equipment, machinery and technology.
o following safety procedures, incl. road safety.
Participate in providing agricultural crop services such as plowing and harvesting.
Assist in the development and implementation of farm and road safety, farm equipment operation safety and
bio-security procedures
Assist in scheduling (custom) field work
Maintain operational records
Follow safety procedures.
Determine when to outsource a repair.
Train (seasonal) farm machinery workers
Report to farm owners
Work will be in farm machinery shop, at own farm fields and at several customers’ fields.
Assist in maintaining farmyard and buildings, including snow removal during winter.
Requirements:
Relevant work experience in providing custom farm work is required.
Relevant work experience with operating and maintaining farm machinery is required.
Capable to lead and instruct a team, team player.
Able to prioritize and scheduling of workload and (maintenance) duties according to seasonal requirements.
Good verbal communication skills.
Be able to operate farm machinery in a safe manner and on public roads.
Able to determine when a repair needs to be outsourced.
Able to work long days during harvest season.
Able to work in all weather circumstances.
Any education related to farming, operating farm equipment, maintaining farm equipment, and/or agricultural
welding is an asset.
Communicate in the English language.
Able to communicate in the (low) German language is an asset.
