Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program Assistant
Active Child’s Education Daycare Tottenham provides quality childcare service to enhance the development and growth of children from Tottenham residents. The daycare is located within New Tecumseth in Simcoe County and boasts stunning natural surroundings, outdoor recreation, and an active sports community.
At this time, we are looking for an experienced Early Childhood Education Program Assistant to join our team.
Working under the supervision of our in-house Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), the successful candidate will be performing the following duties:
· Consult with management, ECEs and parents in planning appropriate programs for students
· Support Ealy Childhood Educations (ECE) with preparing programs to promote physical, mental, emotional, and social development of students
· Assist with engaging students in a wide range of activities, such as Circle Time, Drama Time, Block-Building, Storytelling and Music, Arts and Crafts, and Science and Sensory
· Attend staff meetings to discuss students’ progress and issues
· Prepare written observations on students’ behavior and suggest alternative programs at staff meetings to ensure that children receive all the necessary in-class guidance
· Assist ECEs during classes and in implementing child-care programs and activities
· Assists in providing a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of development
· Maintain daycare supplies and equipment on a daily basis and requisition them, when necessary
· Assist ECEs in keeping daycare records and updating information
· Provide daily maintenance of the daycare’s rooms and equipment
· Carry out instructions of ECEs in their absence.
Requirements:
· Completion of secondary school
· College diploma or completion of courses in Childhood Education is an asset
· At least 2 years of experience working in a daycare or in the educational sector
· High English proficiency
· Great interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
Employment Conditions:
· Permanent, full-time position
· $21.40 per hour for 30 hours work week.
· Applicable overtime rate will apply after 44 hours of work per week.
