Job Duties for Retail Salespersons:
– Welcome customers and engage in conversations about the specific type, quality, and quantity of products or services they are interested in purchasing, renting, or leasing.
– Offer guidance to customers regarding the proper usage and maintenance of merchandise, as well as provide advice regarding specialized products or services.
– Provide estimates or quotes for prices, credit terms, trade-in allowances, warranties, and delivery dates.
– Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental, or lease by ensuring it is in a suitable condition.
– Create sales, rental, or leasing contracts and accept various forms of payment, such as cash, checks, credit cards, or automatic debits.
– Assist in arranging and presenting merchandise on display.
– Maintain sales records to facilitate inventory control.
– Operate computerized systems for inventory management and reordering.
– Potentially conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce platforms.
Visual Merchandisers:
– Conceptualize and execute designs for window and interior displays in retail settings.
– Construct visual retail displays to effectively promote products, highlight promotional events, and accommodate seasonal changes.
– Ensure that visual displays adhere to brand guidelines and standards, reflecting the organization’s culture, image, and target market.
– Install lighting systems to create an appealing visual ambiance.
