Experienced Meat Cutter – Meadow Valley Meats
Meadow Valley Meats, is seeking one (1) full-time, permanent Experienced Meat
Cutter (NOC 94141) to begin as soon as possible. The successful applicant will work at
our Pitt Meadows plant located at 18315 Ford Road, Pitt Meadows, BC, V3Y 0A5. Visit

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The position is permanent and full-time. Required to work overtime, some weekends,
days, shift work, as required.
Salary: $27.73 – $28.50 hourly – Wages are reviewed annually, incremental increase
may be given based on performance.
Hours: Minimum 36 – 40 hours per week

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Education: No Formal Requirement
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related work experience
MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
• Slaughter livestock using stunning devices and knives
• Skin, clean and trim carcasses
• Remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses
• Split carcasses into smaller portions to facilitate handling
• May slaughter cattle, calves and sheep as prescribed by religious laws
• Remove bones from meat
• Remove skin, excess fat, bruises or other blemishes from carcasses or meat portions
• Cut carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting,
processing or packaging
• Cut meat into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use
• Follow all food safety and workplace safety protocols
• Demonstrate proficiency using knives and specialized cutting tools to ensure
efficiency and waste reduction
• Ability to perform duties at all stages along the processing line including
harvesting/slaughter, dressage, and primary processing/deboning/meat cutting
• May assist with mentorship of less-experienced industrial butchers/meat cutters as
needed to meet production requirements
