Job duties:

Provide leadership to the organisation and be responsible for the management and administration of the organisation within the strategic, policy and accountability frameworks laid down by the Board of Trustees.

 

Together with the Chair, to enable the Board of Trustees to fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the governance of the charity, and to ensure that the Board receives timely advice and appropriate information on all relevant matters.

Maintain robust financial controls, monitoring and evaluation processes, systems, and appropriate policies across the organisation.

Ensure effective teamwork across all departments, and a culture of professionalism, learning, and development.

CAD $53.46 per hour (40 hours a week)

 Skills requirements:

Strong management capabilities with the ability to hire, inspire, and maintain a team of top professionals, interns, volunteers, and consultants.

Demonstrated management skills and solid experience in financial systems.

Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead the financial reporting and analysis required to support strategic decision-making.

Ability to effectively communicate complex financial data (both written and verbal), articulate trade-offs, and distil information into clear recommendations for a range of decision-makers.

Good level of knowledge with audit, compliance and internal control issues, and best practices related to risk management and insurance.

Familiarity with technology trends and developments and the ability to supervise Muslim Hands IT function.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in her/his work, exercising excellent judgment and discretion always.

Strategic thinking and long-range planning skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.

Experience supervising a HR function.

Accomplished at working in an environment that is demanding and fast-paced, where there are sometimes competing needs and limited resources.

Fluent in English (another spoken language/s is preferred but not required)

Understanding of and sympathetic to faith-based values at Muslim Hands.

Required education:

Minimum degree level, ideally a qualification in management or business is preferred.

Required work experience:

More than 5 years’ experience of working within the non-profit sector or public authority (local or national government) and with direct experience of working with senior management and Boards of Trustees.

Experience of managing /overseeing operations in an organization or as second-in-command in a large organization.

Experience of leading, managing and motivating non-finance functions such as HR, legal, facilities and administration is highly desirable.
