Wage: $41.47 per hour, 40 hours per week
Location of Work: Various locations across the GTA and Province of Ontario
Job Description:
• Review and interpret plans, drawings, and site layouts for new tennis facilities, multi-sport courts, resurfacing projects, and related infrastructure.
• Inspect construction and installation of tennis and pickleball courts, sport surfaces, fencing, lighting, drainage, and related amenities to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Oversee and verify grading, base preparation, concrete pads, asphalt paving, and acrylic surfacing systems to ensure proper construction methods and long-term performance.
• Evaluate concrete footings, used in indoor and outdoor tennis facilities, foundations, or support structures for adherence to design requirements.
• Inspect drainage, irrigation, and underground piping systems to verify proper installation, flow, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct site safety inspections to ensure safe working conditions and adherence to occupational health and safety standards during all phases of construction.
• Assess existing courts and facilities to identify and report on structural deficiencies, surface wear, trip hazards, and other safety concerns.
• Perform condition assessments of tennis and sport facilities for clients, providing detailed reports and recommendations for maintenance, repair, or upgrades.
• Plan, implement, and monitor workplace safety programs ensuring all workers, subcontractors, and partners comply with company policies, industry best practices, and government safety regulations.
• Follow all company safety and government safety protocols
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in construction inspections
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the application and mixing processes of acrylics from a variety of manufacturers (i.e. Har Tru, ATS Sports and Mapei)
• Experience with tennis court/multi-sport courts strict tolerances for grade, planarity and slope (for proper drainage); surface speed (ITF pace ratings); ball bounce consistency; player traction and safety
• Specialized Surface Knowledge: acrylic systems (hard courts), clay courts (natural & Har-Tru), grass courts, cushioned systems, pickleball & multi-sport surfaces
• Knowledge of unique differences in surfaces such as layering systems, cure times, weather requirements (temperature, humidity, wind & rain) and maintenance needs
• Experience needed with a variety of different repairs and materials, i.e. fibreglass and armour crack repair
• Ability to show how to mix paint products for different speeds on tennis, pickleball and basketball courts
• Secondary education
• Able to work outdoors
• Show up for work every day on time and must be able to work weekends
• Good time management and teamwork
